The Robert & Helen Stauffer Wellness Center

The Wellness Center, located at the Behring Senior Center, offers a wide variety of state-of-the- art strength and cardio equipment to help meet your health and fitness needs. It contains high quality equipment while keeping costs down. The Wellness Center supports and encourages an active lifestyle during the aging process.

A membership in the Wellness Center begins with an information packet and an orientation on the safe and correct operation of the equipment. Equipment includes fourteen high-quality cardio machines, and ten weight machines.

EXERCISE CLASSES

 All exercise classes are drop in, meaning no more registration! 
$4.00 per class or you can purchase a punch card:
10 classes for $30 or 20 classes for $55.00. 

Balanced Yoga (45 minutes) 
Tuesdays & Thursdays ~ 9:30am-10:15am
Combination of chair yoga & balance exercises to keep equilibrium in check, focus on breathing, and help increase flexibility

Fitness First (45 minutes) 
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays ~ 8:30am-9:15am
We use free weights, resistance balls, stretch bands, sand balls, and chairs. Every class has a warm-up, cardio, strength, balance, and cool-down.

Chair Pilates (45 minutes)
Mondays ~ 10:45am – 11:30am
Focuses on improving physical strength, flexibility, posture, balance, & focus through low-impact exercises. Gentle toning movements. Modifications will be provided.

Dance Aerobics (45 minutes) 
EARLY GROUP: Tuesdays & Thursdays ~ 8:30am-9:15am
LATE GROUP: Tuesdays & Thursdays ~ 10:45am-11:30am

Fusion (45 minutes)
Wednesdays & Fridays ~ 10:45am-11:30am
Complete 15-minute cardio program, 15 minutes of strengthening, and 15 minutes of floor exercises and stretching. This class uses balls, sand balls, and floor mats.

Men’s Exercise (45 minutes) 
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays ~ 9:30am-10:15am
Designed just for men, this class includes a warm-up and cool-down. We use free weights, resistance balls, stretch bands, sand balls, and chairs.

Yoga (45 minutes)
Tuesdays & Thursdays ~ 11:45pm-12:30pm
Learn foundational yoga postures and alignment, breathing practice, meditation, deep relaxation, and basic yoga teachings

Total Body Strength (45 minutes)
Mondays & Fridays ~ 11:45pm-12:30pm
Improve your muscular mass, joint strength, bone density, endurance, and coordination with this 45-minute total-body strength-training class! Learn proper form and technique all while using a variety of equipment. You must be able to do floor exercises.

  • 1 Recumbent Bicycle with Arm Ergometry- Great choice for shoulder mobility and participants who may have heart disease

  • 1 Cyber Cycle- A interactive virtual bike ride that works the mind and body together.
  • Lateral Stability Trainer- Works sagittal muscles that will help improve your balance and reduce the risk of a fall
